DescriptionBackground:
The Childcare Center of the Women’s General Association of Macau was established on 10th December 1999 and began to provide services since 3rd January 2000, within technical and financial assistance, concession of equipment, material and social facility from Social Welfare Burea, managed by the Women’s General Association of Macau. Now the center is located at Avenida Dr. Francisco Vieira Machado, Edf. Nam Wa San Chun, R/C. The center covers an area of 1833.88 square meters, including an indoor area of 1,022 square meters and an outdoor space of 811.88 square meters. The nursey is an individual building, two-storeys structure, having a baby room and infant child room on its 1st floor, and 4 activity rooms on the 2nd floor. There is a park outside equipped with large-sized toys such as sliding board, toy house and mini vehicles, provides various playgrounds for infants.

Objectives:
Its goals are to help young children to adapt to group life, building child independence and self-care abilities, promote their physical and mental development, alleviate the childcare pressure of working women and improve women’s employment opportunities.

Targets:
It strives to strengthen communication and sharing of child-raising experience with parents, promote a good parent-child relationship and foster better understanding between parents and children so as to achieve effective parenting at home and for the nursery to provide appropriate childcare services. Besides committed to the wholesome development of young children, the nursery makes every effort to attend to their caring and nurturing needs and works closely with their parents. It adopts a goal-specific approach to develop children’s abilities through different types of games and encourages them to apply them in everyday life.

Contents and Area:
Provide young children with adequate care and assorted activities conducive to their wholesome development.
Provide nutritious meals (lunch, afternoon refreshments and fruits) to ensure the young children getting well-balanced nutrients for maintaining a healthy well-being.
Provide young children with basic healthcare, including having their height and weight measured at regular intervals.
Organize activities at regular intervals to build close bonds between parents and children.
