Description | Background: In 1966, the Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help were invited to come over to Macao to engage in works dedicated to local children. It has been helping and serving the needs of children throughout the past five decades. Knowing that the Missionary Sisters had gained experience in attending children through services in Guia St. Mary Nursery, the Diocese of Macao suggested them to open a nursery at Praca Ponte in 1983 to cope with the need for daily child care by local residents. Objectives: Offer assistance to parents incapable of full-day childcare through providing their young children with appropriate childcare services that allow their children to enjoy a healthy and happy childhood. Targets: With a commitment to respect and value the rights of all children and create conditions for their balanced development, the Nursery is dedicated to providing appropriate childcare to young children. It works at developing good life habits and self-care abilities in them, guides them to unleash their potentials, cultivates their imagination and creativity, helps them to adapt to group life and fosters the cooperation ability of children. Contents and Area: 1) Plan out weekly activities of varying themes for young children in different seasons and for celebration of festive days, unlock their potentials and promote their multiple intelligences development through simple activities like sing-along nursery rhymes, conversations, storytelling, games, arts and crafts, and physical plays. 2) Provide healthy lunch and refreshment options to be certain they are nutritionally balanced. |
